Offset Bend Calculator

Calculate the estimated bend angle and stroke depth for Z-bends and offset bending operations using offset tooling.

  • check_circleEstimated Angle: The bend angle based on offset height ratio.
  • check_circleStroke Depth: Required die penetration for the offset.
  • check_circleZ-Bend Setup: Simplifies offset bending setup.
  • check_circleOffset Tooling: For use with dedicated offset punch/die sets.

school Theory & Formulas

Offset Bending Formulas:

Estimated Angle:
θ = 90 × (H_d / H_t)

Stroke Depth:
S = H_d × sin(45°) = H_d × 0.7071

Where:
- θ = Estimated bend angle
- H_d = Desired offset height
- H_t = Offset tool height at 90°
- S = Stroke depth

Notes:
- Tool height is measured at full 90° offset
- Partial offsets require proportional angle
- Stroke depth accounts for the 45° entry angle
