Box Height Calculator

Calculate the internal box height or required upper tool height based on beam geometry. Essential for deep box or channel bending operations.

  • check_circleBox Internal Height: Calculate max internal height from tool dimensions.
  • check_circleUpper Tool Height: Determine required tool height for a given box.
  • check_circleBeam Distance: Distance from beam center to outer edge.
  • check_circleDeep Box Forming: Essential for box and pan brake operations.

school Theory & Formulas

Box Height Formulas:

Box Internal Height:
H_box = 0.672 × (H_tool - D)

Required Upper Tool Height:
H_tool = (H_box / 0.672) + D

Where:
- H_box = Internal box height
- H_tool = Upper tool height
- D = Distance from beam center to outer edge

Notes:
- The 0.672 factor accounts for the geometry of deep box forming
- Ensure clearance for flanges during bending
- Consider material thickness in final calculations
